    Open Arms Children's Home

    Greetings:

The partnering of OPen Arms LogoOutreach with New Covenant Christian Church in developing a long term mission in Santo Domingo brings equal amounts of excitement and a sobering sense of responsibility to us. We are so grateful for the willing hearts to travel, bringing good news in word and deed. Every three months, by God’s grace another team from the US will travel to Pantoja. Since the year 2000 we have brought nearly $500,000 in medicines to the Ebenezer Clinic through short term mission teams from the US. Now, we have begun a long term project that will increase our commitment of time and resources. If your church would like information to partner with us on this endeavor, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

Here is some information for you to prayerfully consider for your involvement.

    Children’s Home

Presently we rent a house where orphans, who are taken off the streets, are given food, clothing, shelter, and an education. Pastor Paulino and his wife, Wendy, and their young son live in the home and care for the children. Wendy is taking care of the children’s education since none can be enrolled in public school. We have pictures and biographies to share on our Website. Donations to underwrite their needs can be given monthly to Open Arms Outreach. Please contact us to set up convenient monthly debits from your account.

We have different levels of giving that go toward housing, food, clothing, education, medical, and dental for all the children.

Open Arms Children’s Home Building Project
(See OAO Project Narrative for Program details)

The architectural perspectives shown here, via our Picasa photo site:

    • The building will house up to 64 orphans with staff and missionary quarters
    • as well as administrative offices for all Kairos Caribe Projects of Open Arms Outreach, International.
    • The top floor when completed will host an international church to help equip local churches for the work of service in these underdeveloped communities.

Thus far the land donated by the government and the exoneration of building tax represents a gift of $162,000 USD.Funds from the US so far have totaled more than $15,000 in seed money.

The first phase of the building process requires us raising $250,000.

The Master Builder and Engineer put a budget in place for us this spring so we can establish a timeline for construction.

Completed, this project will be in the $700,000 USD range. The enclosed structure is nearly 13,000 sq. ft. and will cost just over $50.per sq. ft. to build. In the US a structure like this would cost five times that amount.

Offsetting our project costs will be donations of construction materials and donated labor, which is why there is an adjustable margin on final costs. Donations can be given in any amount designated for the building.

We will be looking for some primary benefactors and ten donors of $25,000 USD to anchor all other gifts, along with twenty donors of $10,000 and 150 donors of $1,000. These will represent those givers whose names will be on a dedication plaque in the foyer of the front entry. Primary benefactors will also be given a yearly all expense paid trip as our guest at the Children’s Home to see first-hand how much love and care is given in Jesus’ Name.
